Tyler Perry Studios President Steve Mensch died in a plane crash at 62  in Florida.

Mensch piloted the single-seat plane that crashed on Dec. 6 near Highway 19 in Homosassa.

He led day-to-day operations at Tyler Perry Studios since 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia.

No other fatalities reported; the cause of the crash is under investigation.

Mensch was a major figure in  Georgia's film and TV industry.

Tyler Perry expressed deep sorrow, calling Mensch "beloved in the community."

Mensch leaves behind his wife and  three children.

Tyler Perry paused a planned $800M studio expansion due to AI  advancements earlier this year.

Perry highlighted the potential job impact of AI technology in the entertainment industry.
